About Museum Voorlinden
The prestigious Museum Voorlinden in Wassenaar is an inspiring example of how architecture, art and artisan craftsmanship can reinforce each other.
As parquet specialists, we are proud to have contributed to this remarkable project, where our floors form the foundation for one of the Netherlands' most prominent art collections.
A museum of international stature
When art collector Joop van Caldenborgh realised his dream in 2016 to make his extensive collection of contemporary art accessible to the public, one thing was certain.
Only the very best would do.
The museum, situated on the beautiful Voorlinden estate, offers 4,000 m² of exhibition space as a breathtaking stage for modern and contemporary art.

Perfection down to the last detail
In this ambitious project, everything came together that a world-class museum demands. The architecture by Dirk Jan Postel ensures optimal natural light that shows the artworks to their best advantage.
For the floors, a finish was sought that would support this vision. Our French oak floors, specially matched to the colour of the natural stone on the exterior facade, form a harmonious whole with the architecture.
Craftsmanship in service of art
The challenge at Museum Voorlinden went beyond simply laying a beautiful floor. The building imposed specific requirements on materials and execution.
Thanks to our years of experience with museum projects, we knew exactly how to meet these demands. The 3,900 m² parquet floor now forms a quiet yet essential foundation for the art experience.
Technical mastery
For the execution, we chose a construction perfectly suited to the museum environment.
The two-layer wide French oak boards, in exquisite grading, feature a 6 mm solid top layer on 12 mm waterproof bonded birch plywood.
This construction not only guarantees stability but also provides the perfect foundation for the climate control that is so crucial in a museum.

A lasting connection
Over the years, we have remained involved in the maintenance of the floors at Museum Voorlinden.
Recently, in 2024-2025, we carried out renovation work involving sanding and refinishing approximately 2,000 m² of flooring.
This lasting relationship underlines the importance of craftsmanship and expertise in prestigious projects like these.
